Schützenfest, Biberach
Guernsey’s Bailiff, Sir Geoffrey Rowland, will be visiting Biberach during this year’s Schützenfest celebrations as part of an official Guernsey party that will also include the Minister of Culture and Leisure, Deputy Mike O’Hara, and the Deputy Minister of Education, Deputy Tony Spruce. Together with Biberach’s Oberbürgermeister, Herr Thomas Fettback, they will looking to further develop contact between the communities in Biberach and Guernsey to promote more intensive reconciliation over the next few years, building on firm foundations established by the Guernsey Friends of Biberach and their counterparts in Biberach.
During the visit, the Guernsey party will be able to enjoy the Schützenfest events which span several days and annually are the cultural highlight of the year.
It will be the second and last visit by Sir Geoffrey Rowland during his term of office as Bailiff, which will end in March 2012.
