Guernsey Friends of Biberach

2007 Archive

2007 marks the 10th anniversary of the friendship between Guernsey and Biberach. At the Mayor’s invitation a group of 18 people headed by the Bailiff and the Chief Minister spend 4 days in Biberach from 19 to 23 July. They attend a weekend of the Schützenfest celebrations, visit the former camp and the cemetery. An open air service was held in the Town Square with the Anglican and RC Deans from Guernsey taking part.

Youngsters from Biberach are attending the Elizabeth College Summer School.

Someone is planning to do work experience with the Civil Service.

Several young people are looking for au pair positions in Guernsey during the summer.

At the beginning of September a group of 30 Biberach citizens spent a week’s holiday in Guernsey, staying at Les Cotils. Members of the GFBA organised a reception for them on their arrival and also organised a barbeque at the College Field for the guests and members of GFBA and former deportees, friends etc.
