Wolfgang Returns To Guernsey’s Chess Festival
One of Biberach’s star chess players will be returning to Guernsey’s International Chess Festival in October to pit his wits against familiar opposition. This will be the 3rd such visit to be made by Wolfgang Mack to Guernsey’s annual Festival, who is leaving colleagues from his home team, TG Biberach, to battle on without him in Germany’s SVW league. ‘They will probably miss me,’ admitted Wolfgang, ‘but they know how much I enjoy participating at Guernsey’s premier chess competition – I really like the warmth and familiar atmosphere of The Peninsula Hotel. And because I have been coming to Guernsey for the last few years, I now know quite a few of the other competitors who I will enjoy renewing old challenges with!’
The Guernsey International Chess Festival takes place on 16–22 October 2011, and is a feeder event for the 2012 British Chess Championship.
